Together for heritage conservation

We connect employers to the next generation to further our mission of cultural heritage conservation.

Who We Are

At the forefront of a movement

Youth in Heritage is an employment resources program operated by ICOMOS Canada that focuses on providing both employers and employees with the tools they need to succeed.

Since 1975, ICOMOS Canada has been leading the cultural heritage conservation movement in Canada and abroad, actively contributing to the development of the theory and practice of cultural heritage conservation.

Job board

Our exclusive job board is designed to be a central hub for early career employment opportunities across Canada. Youth from anywhere in the country can access and apply to jobs using this portal.

Employers who apply for our grant will have their job postings automatically be advertised on our website, and employers with ICOMOS Canada member numbers are also able to post job opportunities.

Resources Centre

ICOMOS Canada’s YIH resource page highlights the work of our partners, of YIH participants, and offers insight into upcoming opportunities for emerging professionals! Check our website regularly to stay up to date on the latest information for both employers and employees on heritage careers.

Wage Subsidy

Funded by Parks Canada, ICOMOS Canada is able to administer the YIH wage subsidy program which provides a 50% wage subsidy up to a maximum of 3,200$ to support qualifying employees.

Our program is designed to be flexible and inclusive, and can be towards employment which takes place/took place between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025.
